Lowenstein & Weatherwax LLP obtained two additional non-institutions on behalf of Entropic Communications, LLC. The Patent Trial & Appeal Board denied institution petitions for inter partes review one brought by Comcast Cable Communications, LLC (IPR2024-00452) and the other by DISH Network LLC (IPR2024-00462), both challenging Entropic’s US 7,889,759 patent. These non-institutions follow another non-institution secured by L&W in a separate IPR challenge brought by DISH Network (IPR2024-00560) challenging Entropic Communication’s 8,631,450 patent. To date, L&W has secured non-institutions in all of the IPRs it has handled on behalf of Entropic. The L&W team in all three matters was led by Nathan Lowenstein and Colette Woo.
