Lowenstein & Weatherwax LLP obtained another noninstitution on behalf of Cobblestone Wireless LLC. The Patent Trial & Appeal Board denied institution of a petition for inter partes review brought by Samsung America, Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. challenging Cobblestone Wireless’s US 8,891,347 patent. This is the second (of two) challenges brought against the ‘347 patent wherein L&W was able to obtain a noninstitution. Earlier this month, L&W secured a noninstitution of a separate IPR challenge brought by T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon Wireless and more.
