Kenneth Weatherwax, co-managing partner at Lowenstein & Weatherwax LLP, was quoted in an article published in an article published in Law360 on May 30, 2019 regarding how Qualcomm’s patent licensees could react to the Northern District of California’s recent ruling that the chip giant’s licensing practices violate antitrust law. Among other things, Mr. Weatherwax notes that the situation is unusual because “the court has not found that Qualcomm can’t charge royalties.” Rather, “the court has found that Qualcomm is charging royalties that are too high”.
