The U.S. International Trade Commission on Friday signed off on a settlement resolving an action Tessera Inc. lodged seeking to force Freescale Semiconductor Inc. to forfeit bonds posted after the ITC determined that some of Freescale’s imports infringed Tessera’s patents.

The ITC’s ruling approves a joint settlement motion Tessera and Freescale filed in October, under which Freescale agreed to pay an undisclosed amount equaling a portion of the bonds it posted during a presidential review period in an underlying patent dispute with Tessera. The ITC said…
